@ sir TF - thanks sir.. its very fulfilling at the end of the day. 1 of our team mate nearly swept by the strong current during the 1st night when we arrived. the area was almost pitched black if it wasnt for the partial moonlight. The weather adds to the harshness of the tragedy: mixed rain and strong winds bombarded us as we puzzle our way into the night and through the mud filled current coming from Mt. Pinatubo. Its a mixed emotion since we can see people on top of their roofs but the strong current prevented us from rescuing them. Good thing most of their homes are sturdy enough to withstand the water flow at the moment. After pinpointing their exact location, it was easier for us to return at the earliest light. Our team had almost 10-15 families rescued in our assigned area and the younest was that 7 day old baby.
Around 0800 onwards other rescue teams from SBMA, Coast Guard, PNP, arrived so our task was cut down which is good since the team was already too exhausted and never had any meal since we arrived and continious search.
The team will be back, but more on Relief Operations and Medical Missions together with the Red Cross. Our 8-man team assigned still thinks and our hearts goes out to the people of Botolan.
God Bless to all of them.
