I've heard about this on various documentaries in the History Channel and the Discovery Channel, I thought it was all hype as I experienced in my last 2 games with my new VSR10 GSPEC and M50.
I noticed that the game play changed. Normally the assault teams in Tropical Palace would attack with guns blazing! Not this time....
The marshall called game...the main assault began with people gunning for position. plant boxes, fallen trees and walls. I had my VSR and was wearing a ghillie that was meant for summer. It was the 1st game day since the rains came...I realized I was wearing the wrong concealment. Everything was green and my shade of that of wilted fauna. oh crap! I said to myself. so as my team mates ran for cover, TuK$ and I executed our trap.
TuK$ was to be my spotter and the rest would flank the enemy and a small holding force would keep the tangos at where they were.
Lucky for me there was a coconut tree behind me and it enhanced my summer ghillie, i was not seen at all! i looked everywhere and everyone seemed to be engaged...but I noticed that my 12 o'clock had barely any movement, all I heard were shots from their marksmen.
So I crawled slowly into position, I stopped crawling after 10 feet coz the sound of the shots were getting stronger, plus I heard voices. Good thing I stopped when I did, 2 sappers were scouting for their marksmen to take better positions. I raised my rifle very very slowly, care was needed so I could not be detected. I was less than 10 feet from my target. I looked at my scope and then POW, I got one! TuK$ got the other one.
I saw another one take the place of the 2 that got killed, I got that one too! suddenly i saw plenty of movement. I guess they realized I was nearby coz I kept hearing...si Oinky - si Oinky andyan yata.
I saw what I thought were people peeping through the bush. I c0cked the bolt and fired...again...and again...and again. I did to make sure they woudl call the hit and not think it was just ricochet. To my surprise members of their sharpshooting team stood-up and said 'hit p0t@h!'. 5 of them I think.
After that game, game play at the Palace was never the same. The use of fire teams was now part of their style and movements and hand gestures were now employed.
From what I was told, they even fielded a squad to seek me out. nagalit yata. They dont just blindly attack like before, now they say they are afraid of a single BB hitting them on the mask. They know it's me (sorry po team Doc Nelson).
That's all for this week from Sniper Oinky. ;D
